Frequently Asked Questions

How is the cost of turnover calculated?

Four components: separation cost (EOSB, final settlement, exit-process time), replacement cost (recruiter time, agency, visa, onboarding), productivity loss during the vacancy and the ramp-up months, and knowledge-loss cost. We sum these as a multiple of the leaver's annual salary.

How much does losing one employee really cost?

Industry benchmarks: 50% of annual salary for entry-level, 100% for mid-level, 150–200% for senior or hard-to-fill roles (SHRM, Gallup). The calculator uses 75% as a reasonable mid-market default; adjust the productivity-loss months for your seniority mix.

Is EOSB the same as severance?

In Middle East countries, the End-of-Service Benefit (EOSB / gratuity) is the statutory amount paid on exit regardless of cause. Some countries add notice-pay and unused-leave encashment on top. Egypt and Saudi Arabia have different rules for resignations vs terminations.

What's a healthy turnover rate?

Middle East average is 12–18% annually across industries. Above 25% signals serious retention or engagement issues. Below 8% may indicate stagnation. Use the Annual Turnover field for your real number.
